Light

God is with us and promises to be with us in our everyday circumstances. This morning I woke up at 4 a.m. and the house was dark.  I needed a light to guide me. As I felt my way to along the familiar path to the bathroom, I forgot I had shut the door the night before. I rammed into the door and stubbed my toe. My well-known pathway way was stopped by this barrier. Even in our familiar living in life we find unexpected situations block the comfortable way we walk. We need to be guided by light to guide us in directions to take or decisions to make.

God gave us His guidebook, the Bible, His Word, to instruct us in His plan  that gives hope.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5

His Word will give us direction, insight to overcome obstacles we face, and it gives hope in dark seasons of life. As we give ourselves to Him, He will be the light of our lives no matter what the obstacles are that we encounter.

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105
